« When I was young, I wanted a career in the graphic arts. I prepared for it by taking courses to get into a school. I was turned down because I’m colour blind. I had to find another career. I became a civil engineer. Nevertheless, I continued to draw, and when I had the opportunity to try my hand at sculpture, it was a revelation – I was free of colour!

Marhiester's paintings consist of large, colorful geometric structures and shapes, with rapid, energetic strokes. The drawings superimpose architectural elements, like imaginary maps and plans, obsessively recounting territories conquered or to be conquered. Questions about memories of migratory movements, geographical, cultural, historical, social and family origins.

Norbert Bardin has been passionate about photography since his earliest childhood. At the age of 22, he began working as an advertising photographer. Today, as an illustrator-photographer with a proven technique, the artist creates abstract landscapes, purified to the extreme, born of an extremely sensitive eye.
